DID YOU KNOW?

The answer

Laodicea. Colossians 4:16 says: "see that you read also the letter from Laodicea." No such letter survives in the New Testament. Later, a short letter to the Laodiceans circulated in Paul's name, and no one today accepts it as his.

Why it’s interesting

It was not alone. A third letter to the Corinthians also went round under Paul's name, written after his death to attack views of the mid-second century. Letters between Paul and the philosopher Seneca were made up too.
