The 1611 King James Bible printed the Apocrypha between the Testaments, and the translation committees worked on those books like the rest. Editions without the section became common much later — by the 1800s, Bible societies were printing the King James without it.
Why it’s interesting
So the most famous Protestant Bible in English began longer than the copies most readers hold today. Which books sit between two covers has shifted with printing decisions as well as councils.
