The answer
2 Chronicles 33. Only Chronicles tells that Assyrian commanders took Manasseh "captive in manacles" to Babylon, where he prayed, and God "restored him again to Jerusalem and to his kingdom" (2 Chronicles 33:11-13). 2 Kings 21 has no captivity and no prayer.
Why it’s interesting
Before that point the two books tell his wrongs in nearly the same words (2 Kings 21:2-9; 2 Chronicles 33:2-9). Kings instead goes on to blame Jerusalem's fall on his sins (2 Kings 24:3).
