The answer
Disagree. The ancient Greek translation of Jeremiah is about an eighth shorter than the traditional Hebrew text, and it puts the prophecies against foreign nations, Jeremiah 46-51 in the Hebrew, in a different place. Two Hebrew copies among the Dead Sea Scrolls are closer to the Greek.
Why it’s interesting
The Dead Sea Scrolls are centuries older than the manuscripts behind today's standard Hebrew text. Because a Hebrew copy there is short too, the shorter Greek Jeremiah does not look like the translators' own trimming.
