THIS MIGHT SURPRISE YOU
The answer
John. "Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb" (John 20:1). Mark 16:1 sends her with Mary the mother of James and Salome. Matthew 28:1 sends "the other Mary" with her. Luke 24:10 sends her with Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and other women.
Why it’s interesting
Mary Magdalene comes alone, but her report says "we": "we do not know where they have laid him" (John 20:2). She comes back for a second visit, and only then sees two angels. She sees Jesus too, but thinks he is the gardener (John 20:11-16).
