Ecclesiastes tells the reader to do whatever their hand finds to do, with all their might. What reason does it give?

The answer

There is no work or thought in Sheol. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10).

Why it’s interesting

The verse says "to which you are going" to every reader, with no exceptions. The Psalms picture Sheol the same way, as a place where the dead can no longer worship God (Psalm 6:5).
