In Revelation 20, Death and Hades give up the dead who were in them. What happens to Death and Hades next?

The answer

They are thrown into the lake of fire. "Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:14).

Why it’s interesting

Here Death and Hades act like characters: they hand over the dead, then are thrown away. A chapter later comes the promise "Death will be no more" (Revelation 21:4).
