DID YOU KNOW?
The answer
Jude. "It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied" (Jude 1:14). The prophecy that follows comes from 1 Enoch, a Jewish book outside the Bible of most churches.
Why it’s interesting
2 Peter borrows much of Jude's material but leaves out its quotations of 1 Enoch, perhaps because its author did not count them as scripture. Today 1 Enoch is in the Bible only of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox churches.
