Why it’s interesting
The festival comes from a stretch that Protestant Bibles pass over between the Testaments — but Catholic and Orthodox Old Testaments include 1 and 2 Maccabees, which narrate exactly these events. So whether Hanukkah falls in a "gap" depends on which Bible you're holding.
