Disagree. Matthew places Jesus' birth under Herod the Great, who died in 4 BCE — so Jesus was likely born around 6-4 BCE. A sixth-century monk, Dionysius Exiguus, set up our numbering and miscalculated; there's also no year zero.
Why it’s interesting
It means the man the calendar is built around was born a few years "Before Christ." The mistake was baked in centuries later and never corrected.
