Tarshish. Jonah goes down to Joppa and finds a ship going to Tarshish, and he pays his fare (Jonah 1:3). Joppa is only the port he sails from.
Why it’s interesting
Nobody knows exactly where Tarshish was. It may have been Tartessus in Spain. Elsewhere in the Hebrew Bible it is a wealthy, faraway place known for ships carrying luxury goods.
