DID YOU KNOW?

The answer

Exodus 34. Exodus 34:6-7 joins God's mercy to a warning: "yet by no means clearing the guilty." Jonah 4:2 stops at the mercy and ends on "relenting from punishment." Psalm 103:8 also keeps only the mercy.

Why it’s interesting

Moses quotes both halves back to God in Numbers 14:18, warning included. Then, in the next verse, he asks God to forgive the people anyway (Numbers 14:19).
