The answer

Thomas (John 20:24-29), whose demand to see and touch the wounds gave us the phrase "doubting Thomas." Jesus offers, and Thomas answers "My Lord and my God" (20:28) — but the text never records him reaching out.

Why it’s interesting

This scene appears only in John. Jesus doesn't turn him away — he invites the touch, then adds a blessing for "those who have not seen and yet have come to believe." Notice, though, that John never says Thomas actually touched anything.
