The author is unknown. Hebrews names no writer, and its Greek and theology differ from Paul's letters. It was accepted into the canon under Paul's name in some quarters, but the actual author isn't known.
Why it’s interesting
The early scholar Origen wrote of Hebrews that "who wrote it, God knows." A book can be scripture to millions and still have a genuinely open question at its very first line.
