In the Bible: Mark 3:21. The crowds have grown so thick that Jesus can't even eat, and his family goes out to seize him amid the talk that he's beside himself. Matthew and Luke, retelling Mark, both leave this scene out.
Why it’s interesting
The Greek is compressed enough that translators debate who exactly went out — "his family" or, more literally, "those with him" — and who was doing the talking. Either way it's one of the rawest family moments in the Gospels, and only Mark kept it.
