The answer

A Lamb standing as if it had been slaughtered. The elder says, "See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered" (Revelation 5:5). What John sees is "a Lamb standing as if it had been slaughtered, with seven horns and seven eyes" (Revelation 5:6). The Lamb then takes the scroll (Revelation 5:7).

Why it’s interesting

Both titles point back to older books. Lion of the tribe of Judah comes from Genesis 49:9-10, and Root of David from Isaiah 11:1 and 11:10, the same chapter as the wolf and the lamb.
