DID YOU KNOW?
The answer
Gluttony. Proverbs 6:17-19 names haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that hurry to run to evil, a lying witness, and one who sows discord in a family. The list is about pride, lying, violence, scheming and strife. Gluttony, lust and sloth are not on it.
Why it’s interesting
Haughty eyes comes first on the list, and the phrase is a picture of arrogance. Lying appears twice, once as a tongue and once as a witness. Five of the seven are body parts doing wrong: eyes, tongue, hands, heart, feet.
