The answer

Three years (Galatians 1:18). And the visit was brief: fifteen days with Cephas, seeing "none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother." The fourteen years belongs to his next visit, in Galatians 2:1.

Why it’s interesting

Paul gives the timeline under oath-like emphasis — "before God, I do not lie!" — because his independence from Jerusalem was the argument of the letter. Much of the chronology of his whole career hangs on these two numbers.
