Where in the Bible does the word "antichrist" appear?

The answer

Only in 1 and 2 John. The word appears in 1 John 2:18, 2:22 and 4:3, and in 2 John 7. Revelation's beasts are never called by it. In 1 John, the antichrist is "the one who denies the Father and the Son" (1 John 2:22).

Why it’s interesting

The picture many people carry joins the word from John's letters to the beast of Revelation 13, a link neither book makes. The letters also speak of more than one: "many antichrists have come" (1 John 2:18).
