1843 or 1844. Miller, lecturing in 1830, predicted that Christ would return in 1843 or 1844. He was one of several readers who used Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians to set a timeline and a date (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
Why it’s interesting
Miller's followers were called Millerites. The abolitionist and women's rights activist Sojourner Truth was one of them.
