Matthew 27:5 says Judas threw down the silver and 'went and hanged himself.' Acts 1:18 tells it differently: he bought a field, and 'falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.'
Why it’s interesting
Even the money is handled differently — in Matthew the priests buy the field with the returned silver; in Acts Judas buys it himself. Two tellings of one man's end, preserved side by side in the same New Testament.
