Agree. All four Gospels are internally anonymous — none names its author in the text, and the writers never sign their work. The familiar titles ("According to Matthew," and so on) are not part of the texts themselves. When they were attached is debated: the earliest physical evidence is later, but no surviving manuscript preserves a competing author attribution.
Why it’s interesting
Luke opens with a preface addressed to "Theophilus" yet names no author; John closes by pointing to an unnamed "disciple." The traditional names are early and important — but they're the church's attributions, not signatures.
