Agree. In Mark 13 Jesus foretells the Temple's destruction, and the Gospel reflects a setting of upheaval, which leads most scholars to date it right around 70 CE, when Rome destroyed it. Whether Mark wrote just before or just after that event is genuinely debated.
Why it’s interesting
The date turns partly on how much historical knowledge a prophecy seems to presuppose — a question that recurs across biblical dating. A few years either side of 70 shifts how we read the whole Gospel's mood.
