DID YOU KNOW?

"When Matthew and Luke tell events in the same order, it is almost always in stories that Mark tells too." Agree or disagree?

The answer

Agree. Matthew and Luke often run in the same sequence, and almost always it is in stories Mark tells as well. The sayings they share without Mark mostly sit in different places in their two Gospels.

Why it’s interesting

The Lord's Prayer is one of those sayings. Matthew has it in the Sermon on the Mount, and Luke has it on the road to Jerusalem, after a disciple asks to be taught (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-4).
