The answer

The Great Isaiah Scroll from Qumran dates to roughly 125 BC. Before it was found, the oldest complete Hebrew Isaiah was medieval — and yet the two are remarkably close, differing mostly in spelling and small details.

Why it’s interesting

It's one of the reasons scholars talk about the careful transmission of the Hebrew text over long stretches of time. The Dead Sea Scrolls let us reach back a millennium and check the copyists' work directly.
