Erasmus's single Greek manuscript of Revelation was missing its final leaf, so he translated the last verses from the Latin Vulgate back into Greek to fill the gap. That reconstructed text flowed into the 'Textus Receptus' the King James translators later used.
Why it’s interesting
A few readings in the printed Greek tradition trace back to Erasmus's back-translation rather than to any surviving Greek manuscript. It's a very human moment at the root of a very famous Bible.
